Focused Idea owner, Brian Gibbs, has recently been invited by the San Antonio Small Business Development Center to speak to their clients about getting their business on the Internet. With over a billion people accessing the Internet, it is imperative that businesses of all sizes have web presence. In the U.S. many business professionals said they visit a company's website as the first step in researching potential partners, clients, and vendors.
"I believe that with the economy as it is, now is the best time for companies to get online," said Gibbs. "Gas costing what it does, people aren't driving around just to shop. Now, they seem to "pre-shop" if nothing else, online. How can they shop a small business if they don't have a website to visit?"
E-commerce continues to grow. Typically people take two to three years from first logging on to feel confident enough to buy from websites. This means that e-commerce sales will at least double from their current level when more of the current billion users start shopping online.
